Notes: Here is the road repair proposal based on Jim Hubb’s recommendations. I will go over it at the Nov community meeting.
Jim came to Milagro this Tuesday and met with David and me. He recommended we complete the road repair around the corner on the other side of what we completed last Spring. Also he suggested using the material we have to cover some of the entrance part of the road and to repair areas needing attention. He felt the main problem in our situation is that we left uncompleted the other side of the road and this lack of support added to the areas that need repair (north side of curve). Apart from that, the new material is doing well.
Road repair weekend of November 11,12 and get Saw Cut company to grind the outside of the curve and the area south of the curve, on Saturday (Nov 11). A crew of 4 will be needed to rake even, add wax and compact with Jim’s roller (3 hours). Then on Sunday we will add an inch of new material and compact (another crew of 4 for 3 hours).
The cost will be:
- 7 tons of new material at $190/ton as before and $150 for delivery= $1480
- Saw cut to grind up one inch of the road= $1200
- Delivery of a compacter by Jim Hubbs for our use = free if available.
- 7 times 5 gal wax = free
Total cost: $2680 from our reserve. ($2980 if we need to rent a compacter)
