CHC Proposal for Community Meeting, August 5, 2012 (revised on July 8):
The CHC proposes the use of only fragrance free products in the washers and dryer in the CH laundry facility.
A part of the proposal is an ancillary accommodation for after the proposal is agreed upon by the community:
for two months the CHC will provide fragrance free laundry soap and dryer sheets for those residents who will need time to acquire fragrance free products; a list of acceptable product brands will be updated on the white board in the laundry room; laundry room users with scented washing machine products will have time to exchange with someone else for unscented washing machine products
A survey was sent via email to the community on June 13. As of July 8, the survey had twenty-one respondents:
- 19 respondents support the proposal
- 21 respondents declined having a town hall regarding the proposal
- 11 respondents regularly use the laundry room
- 3 respondents often use the laundry room
- 4 respondents rarely use the laundry room
- 3 respondents never use the laundry room
All community residents were invited to attend the coordinating group’s* last meeting of June 26 — to ask questions for clarification or to come with any outstanding concerns that needed to be addressed. 0ther than the coordinating group, no other community residents attended.
The proposal was ready for presentation and approval at the July 8 community meeting, but there was not a quorum. Some minor revisions were made for the August 5 community meeting.
*Members of the coordinating group are those residents who voluntarily showed up and participated in one or more of the three meetings: Sara, Linda, Patricia, Elise, Libby, Maureen, MaryLou, Jeannette, Peter, Sybil, John
